I would like to share with you a few lessons I have learned in the recent years that has me experiencing life in a joyful way. Here are some tips on how I’ve learned to live each day in the moment.
- First, DECIDE to be happy on purpose. SMILE at those around you and see how contagious that smile can be and how it can make you feel. Everyone can afford a smile – it costs nothing but gives so much.
- Do a Random Act of Kindness. Compliment a complete stranger or hold the door open for someone. It’s the so-called “little” things that can make a difference in someone’s day.
- Be open and NOTICE all the good that surrounds us. People become focused on worries, fears, stress and the “news” instead of noticing all the wonders of the world. Notice the kindness and beauty everywhere you look. Notice the positives and don’t give your energy away to negativity.
- Don’t judge other people. I still have to remind myself of this one. It’s easy to judge other people, however, it is simply a reflection of ourselves. We are judging them because of our experiences and perceptions so we, naturally, have expectations of other people based on our own history. This is how we would have “handled” that situation or the better “response” would have been . . . I hope you get the picture. Basically, judging other people does nothing for you. It has no benefit, so let it go.
- Most of all, be THANKFUL! Show, express and feel gratitude for all of your experiences. This includes hurtful pasts. You must be thankful for the experience and the lesson to truly move beyond these kinds of feelings. All of your experiences have made you who you are and I’m betting you’re a pretty special person! Embrace your past with love and gratitude. It’s miraculous how much your life will improve.
There are probably more lessons that I will think of as soon as I publish this post, but I feel this is a great start. My husband and I use “The Secret”, written by Rhonda Byrne and practice the law of attraction – we truly believe in this way of life. We also listen to or read Abraham-Hicks, Bashar, Tony Robbins, Tim Ferriss . . . and numerous others that are inspiring and motivational.
Many might wonder how we do it. Well, mostly we have each other, and we have made friends all over the world that practice this same way of life. We are all seeking freedom in many forms.
