3 Funny Quotes About Being A Mom

February 2, 2015

Are you a stay-at-home mom? Or would you like to be? Or maybe you know someone that can use some humor because they are a stay-at-home mom. Really, stay-at-home mom or not, you need to have humor to raise your kids.  So please share because I am a stay-at-home mom and I KNOW I can use humor about this FULL-TIME job!
  1. Don’t yell at your kids! Lean in real close and whisper, it’s much scarier.
    Unknown
This is pretty funny. I never thought about it this way, but I do this all the time. The kids KNOW without a doubt that I am serious . . .
What about you? Do you ever do this?
  2. Yes, I am still in my pajamas. What did I accomplish today? The kids are still alive. Say thank you. Now say I’m pretty.
    SomeeCards
There are days I feel like this. How about you? Luckily, my husband is very understanding and supportive. Although I think it did take me breaking down and me vomiting all over him how tired I was one day while we were on vacation. Ever since he has been great! He honestly just never thought about it until I told him how I felt. (Being on vacation was supposed to be fun. What he didn’t understand was that it wasn’t necessarily vacation for me since it was what I do everyday . . . only difference being that I didn’t have everything I did at home to take care of the kids).
Keepin’ it real here! Does your significant other sympathize and support you? Do they get it???
  3. The quickest way for a mother to get her children’s attention is to sit down and get comfortable.
    Unknown
Right??? Is this one true or what??? That or try to make a phone call. Basically, they can be quietly doing something by themselves . . . UNTIL you decide you have a moment to get something done. Then that is when they will need your attention!
Though we love our kids dearly, we have to keep a sense of humor to raise them . . . or they wouldn’t survive!
So after having all of their bodily fluids on you at some point, having your words embarrassingly repeated at the most inopportune times, stepping on or tripping over countless toys they probably don’t really even play with and numerous other challenges, if you don’t see the humor in these situations then you will definitely lose your sanity!
For me, it’s a close call anyway! Once you think you’ve seen it all, they come up with something new! Not to mention that as they get older, each stage is new altogether for everyone!
Just breathe . . . just smile . . . and just laugh!
Good luck my friends!

Can You Get Over Procrastination Before It Kills You?

February 5, 2015
Do you fall ‘victim’ to procrastination? Most of us do. We have self-defeating thoughts that keep us from doing what we want or should do. We limit ourselves by fear.
You can place blame on anything but it really is YOUR decision. If you want something bad enough, you take action no questions, no hesitations, no second thought. Right? So do your excuses hold water?
If you are procrastinating, here are some important questions to ask yourself:
– Why are you procrastinating? (I know, DUH! but most of us know the exact answer to this question!)
– What is your obstacle?
– Have you created this obstacle? Is it real?
– What is it you are afraid of?
– What is the worse that can happen?
– Is the worst case scenario a deal breaker?
– Then why are you still thinking about it?
Procrastination can make you feel overwhelmed and helpless. When we procrastinate, we experience negative emotions that are self-defeating. Don’t beat yourself up. Just take one step forward- start with one small task.
TAKE ACTION because “Sometimes later becomes never.”
To start working on taking action as opposed to procrastination, start with your thoughts. Find the positives and be optimistic. If your approach is that this is “hard” then it will be. So it may be a “challenge” but find empowering words to tell yourself and remind yourself how you will feel when you have accomplished completion!
Stay the course.  It’s easy to get distracted. Especially if it’s something you really don’t want to do. So make up your mind to finish this project before you move on to another.
I still find myself procrastinating at times, so I ask myself the questions I shared with you and I find my answers. I take at least one little baby step in the direction to completing whatever it is that I am holding back from. I keep in mind that I am growing and taking action.
I know am successful because I have changed my thought processes. I look deeper into my true self and I face my fears. I am open to growing so that I can help myself and others.
So my friends, here is my suggestion to you . . .
Get to know yourself. Raise your standards. Expect more from yourself. Believe in yourself.

What’s Your Excuse For NOT Reading This Post?

February 12, 2015

How many excuses do you make in a day? Really . . . think about it! I know that I make way too many. How about you? Are you ready to take responsibility for your actions or lack of action – for your thought processes?
We make excuses so we feel better about doing something or not doing it. Right? Simple as that.  However, this can lead us into becoming chronic liars.  Do you see any good coming of that?
What is an excuse?
In the dictionary as a noun (which is what this post is about) the definition is as follows:
1. a reason or explanation put forward to defend or justify a fault or offense.
synonyms: justification, defense, reason, explanation, mitigating circumstances, mitigation, vindication
Excuses do not empower us. Realize that to be true to yourself, you have to let go of them.
Some are relevant and true but most are not. Be aware of your thoughts and make some changes. Take responsibility.
Excuses are often made when we fear or doubt something.  If you think about it, we obviously make time for what we feel is important to us.  We will do anything to make something happen if we are passionate about it.  However, if we are unsure or fearful (or feeling other negative emotions) we can easily make up an excuse to avoid or postpone a decision to take action.
A significant reason for making up an excuse is to avoid failure.  If we never make the attempt, then we can’t fail.  Right?  Well think about that again.  How does REGRET feel?  Regret is another word for failure.
Is a life lived without risk really a life lived.  Is it?  That’s another question to ask yourself.
So dig deep and have a conversation with yourself to find out the true meaning behind your excuses.  Like it or not, you will get to know yourself better.  Ask yourself these questions and make some, possibly, hard decisions.
Stop making up excuses and start finding solutions.  Be aware of your thoughts, honor your feelings and then make a decision!
Now that I am aware of my language (both in my head and verbal), I can take the steps to becoming my true self and live a better life.  I hope you can do the same.

Personal Development – Are You Ready For A Change?

February 20, 2015

So you’ve decided to make a change? Change begins with you. So, naturally, self-development is a great place to start and it is an on-going process throughout your life.
There are great resources available to you in the form of books, quotes and social groups where you can surround yourself with positive, inspiring people on a daily basis.
If you don’t like to read or don’t have the time, I have a solution for you. However, I must add that, in most cases, you will MAKE time for what is important to you. There are some instances where time may be a real issue but if you are passionate enough, you will find a way to make it happen.
First, as in the quote in the picture above, “You must make a choice to take a chance or your life will never change.”
Self-development means that you must take a look at YOURSELF and your ways, thoughts, actions and reactions.  Here are some suggestions to get started:
  1. Listen to Self-Development Audio Books

If you feel you don’t have time to read, you can always find plenty of books on tape and audio files. I, myself, am a stay-at-home mom and can make time to read most of the time but my husband likes to listen to audio downloads when he walks and when he drives.
When I choose to listen to audios, I do so while doing yard work or even while getting ready in the mornings.
There are plenty of resources online where you can download audible books (Amazon, iTunes and even YouTube or just Google “audio books”). Your local library may also have resources online. Ours has select titles online where you can download them for free.
  2. Read Inspiring Quotes Often

To keep a healthy mindset, you can keep inspiring or motivational quotes around where you will see them often and remind you of the change you are seeking. You can print them out and put them around your house, in your car or wherever you spend a lot of time or need the inspiration the most.
I find that picture quotes resonate best with me. I even go as far as to create my own picture quotes. They mean even more to me when I see my pictures behind the quote. If you’re interested, I wrote a blog post with some resources for creating your own.
Again, you can Google whatever types of quotes you are interested in (i.e., inspirational, motivational, success, etc.) and click on images. Just browsing these picture quotes can quickly alter your mindset.
  3. Surround Yourself With Like-Minded People

Create a community for yourself or join one where you can be around like-minded people. Find people that are already showing they have changed their lives the way you would like yours to be; people that share your outlook and will support your decisions; people that will encourage, inspire and believe in you.  LIMIT time with people that have the opposite effect on you.
If you are on social media like Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, you can find many “friends” or groups such as this.
If you are on Facebook, you can find our page about Finding Synchronicity at

ABC List – Words of Praise

March 2, 2015

Do you like to make others feel better by using phrases of praise, approval, applause and cheers?  I sure do but sometimes I feel like I get stuck using the same words over and over.  My most used acclamation – “Awesome!”
Having worked in a martial arts dojo, we are ALWAYS praising the kids for anything we catch them doing right.  However, they are pretty smart and catch on when you use the same word over and over.  We want to make them feel special, but if we use the same word all the time . . . it is no longer special and they stop feeling special.  It just becomes a word.
So, I decided to make a list of “other” options and thought you might have a use for them too.
Here we go!
A – Awesome! All right! Amazing!
B – Bravo! Breathtaking! Beautiful!  Better than ever! Brilliant!
C – Cool! Congratulations!
D – Dynamite! Doing great!
E – Excellent! Extraordinary!
F – Far out! First rate! Fabulous! Fantastic!
G – GREAT (job)! Good going! Got it!
H – Hooray! How perfect, great, awesome! Hot dog! Hero!
I – Incredible! Inspiring! I knew you could do it!
J – Jedi! Just perfect, amazing, marvelous! Joyful!
K – Kudos! Keep up the great work!
L – Love it!
M – Money!  Marvelous!
N – Nice (going)!
O – Outstanding! Out of sight!
P – Perfect! Phenomenal!
Q – Quite beautiful, remarkable, amazing!
R – Right on! Remarkable! Radical!
S – Super! Stupendous!  Sensational! Sweet! Stunning!
T – Thumbs up! Talented! Totally Cool!
U – Unstoppable! Unbelievable!
V – Very cool, awesome, amazing!
W – Way to go! Wow! Wonderful! Woohoo!  Well done!
X – Xcellent (haha, let me know if you have suggestions for this one!)
Y – You’re the best, #1, a winner!
Z – Zen!  Zippadeedoodah!

So what do you think?  I hope you can use these to brighten somebody’s day!  And, PLEASE, let me know if you have something to add.  I’d love to hear your suggestions!

What Do You See?

March 3, 2015

Do you see what others don’t?
Do you make conscious choices on how to view the world around you?
Do you listen to your intuition?
Do you dream and visualize?

There are several ways to “see”.  We use our emotions and feelings, our eyesight, our logic, our intuition . . . can you think of any others?
What is important is knowing that there is a choice about everything you see.  It’s about perception, understanding, being open to messages and even change – usually one of the hardest things for people to embrace.
If you make a decision, an intention, to see positivity and beauty in life then your journey will be much more rewarding and fulfilling.  On the other hand, if you “react” without making this conscious decision, you may have negative feelings and think that life is hard or unfair.
So take a look – a real look at your surroundings.  Do you notice them or are you just living, letting life pass you by?
Do you judge people and let your ego take control?  Or do you let people be who they are and appreciate them?  Each person is unique due to their individual experiences and past so their perceptions may differ from yours – and that’s OK!
Do you notice coincidences (we like to call them synchronicities)? Do you see them as messages or do you write them off?  We see them as messages from the universe that you are on the right path.
Do you listen to your “gut” when something feels right or wrong?  That is your intuition trying to help you – you should let it.
Do you still dream and believe in them?  Do you remember how easy it was to dream as a child?  As we get older, society restrains us and teaches us how we “should” live.  However, dreaming and belief is always important.  Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
So this post is all about you.  It is about how you decide to view the world, your surroundings and how you choose to respond to outside influences (rather than react).
Let me ask you . . .
Have you set your intentions?
Do you know who are are?
Do you know who you want to be?
What do you see?
I hope we have opened your eyes to see there is more to life that you may be missing.  Pay attention and notice the beauty, kindness and synchronicities in the world.  Choose to bring more of that into your life every day.  Choose to SEE what others may not because it’s an amazing feeling and it can hold you in wonder.
Thank you for reading and we wish you every happiness you choose to find and SEE!
